Smart RR application is a technology-based mobile application that enables survivors, social workers, and service providers to report and refer GBV incidents to relevant service providers and authorities, conducts service mapping, automatically updates referral directory, collects and analyses referral data. This idea was built on the existing referral mechanism of the GBV Sub Sector which is done manually. The application was therefore designed to mitigate existing challenges such as under-reporting and associated difficulties with accessing services
About the Developer
Dirug Samuel Yugoro from Nigeria is a Humanitarian and Social Entrepreneur. He has over 5 Years of experience working in the Non-Profit Sector.
He is the Founder & Executive Director of Big Family 360 Foundation. He is one of the Obama Young African Leaders 2019 Cohort, YALI Alumni Cohort 12, Certified Gender-Based Violence Instructor, Project Manager at Women’s Right Advancement Protection Alternative, Protection Information Management Assistance in Hope and Rural Aid Foundation, Mentor at Tony Elumelu Foundation, and a consultant at Global Women for Quality and Sustainable Development Initiative.
Dirug Samuel is the developer of SMARTER, a Mobile Application that allows people to report and refer rape cases from their basic and smartphone. Within the first three months of the deployment of the app, over 200 cases have been reported via the app. The app is the first of its kind in Nigeria and it seeks to bridge the gap in Gender-Based Violence service provision by simply connecting victims of rape to service providers from their immediate community.
Through his organization, over a thousand out of school have been supported with educational kits and meager scholarships. 300 vulnerable women’s capacity has been built and supported with seed capital to venture into small-scale businesses in Nigeria.
